About Us

Our Story

WeShareWeCare was born out of a very personal struggle — and a very human need to feel understood.

The Founder’s Journey

In my early 20s, I was diagnosed with Dystonia — a neurological movement disorder that causes involuntary muscle contractions. At the time, I had no idea what was happening to my body. The diagnosis was confusing, scary, and overwhelming.

I turned to the internet hoping to find others who had been through the same thing. I searched for someone — anyone — who could tell me what their life looked like with this condition. How did they cope? What helped? What didn’t? Did things get better?

I couldn’t find what I was looking for. Medical websites gave me clinical definitions. Forums were outdated or abandoned. And I felt completely alone in something that I desperately needed company in.

That experience never left me. And it became the reason WeShareWeCare exists today.

What We Believe

We believe that the most powerful thing you can offer someone who is struggling is a story from someone who has been there. Not medical advice. Not statistics. Just an honest, human account of what it’s really like.

We believe that no one should have to navigate a health diagnosis alone. That the internet should be a place of genuine connection and support — not just information.

And we believe that your story matters. Whether you’ve been living with your condition for two weeks or twenty years — your experience could be the thing that helps someone else take their next step forward.

Our Mission

WeShareWeCare is a free, community-driven platform where people living with chronic, rare, or complex health conditions can:

  • Share their personal stories and experiences
  • Find real-world information about their condition
  • Connect with others who truly understand
  • Access curated resources including articles, videos, and support organisations

This is not a medical website. We are not doctors. We are people — just like you — who found strength in sharing, and want to pass that on.
